Other important things to know:

  • Photographer Scott Audette is a certified PADI rescue diver.

  • Your child should be confident in and under the water. We recommend that your child know how to swim.

  • Our pool’s shallow end is 3 feet.

  • Parents do not need to come into the pool, but you are welcome to do what makes you most comfortable.

  • A photo assistant is present at every shoot to help with lighting, costumes and other amenities.

  • Please have your child bring or wear either a bathing suit or whatever outfit they plan to wear in the water as well as a dry change of clothes. If you have your own mermaid fin and tail, by all means, bring it with you! We do not provide tails and fins, but we have a variety of mermaid-related accessories and props. A bathroom is accessible right from the pool area.

  • We shoot rain or shine because, well, mermaids live in the water! The exceptions are when lightning is within a 30-mile radius of our pool studio and if outdoor temperatures are expected to be in the 60s or below. In those situations, we will reschedule your shoot.
